About Me
PhD Candidate | Biomedical Engineering | Researcher
I’m a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech & Emory University, specializing in machine learning-driven diagnostic technologies to tackle global healthcare challenges. My research focuses on developing rapid, low-cost diagnostic solutions for infectious diseases, leveraging machine learning and microfluidics to enhance detection accuracy and accessibility.
My passion for machine learning in biomedical applications has driven me to expand my expertise beyond traditional biomedical engineering. I’ve pursued advanced coursework, including Georgia Tech’s CS 7641 Machine Learning and MITx 6.86x Machine Learning with Python, applying these skills to projects like scRNA-seq analysis and carbapenemase class separation using supervised ML techniques. This interdisciplinary approach enables me to bridge the gap between engineering, data science, and translational technologies.
Leadership & Science Communication
Beyond research, I am dedicated to mentorship and science communication. As Director of Communications at Nucleate Atlanta, I support biotech entrepreneurs through workshops and mentorship. I also serve as a graduate assistant for Project ENGAGES, a program that inspires students from minority-serving public high schools in the City of Atlanta through hands-on research experiences.
I also co-founded Scieneers TikTok, an educational science platform with over 4 million views, aimed at sharing the world of STEM research with the general public in fun and creative ways. Follow us @Scieneers!
